The holiday season has always been a favorite time for our Family. As the temperature drops and the Christmas music is played- I look back on our yearly holiday traditions with great fondness.
One of our favorite traditions is decorating gingerbread houses together. The kitchen table becomes a happy mess of frosting, candy, and laughter. Maddie and Connor take it very seriously — each gumdrop and peppermint placed with care (and a few, of course, sneaked as snacks along the way).
Another favorite tradition is making the trip to the North Pole — the magical Santa experience at the Natick Mall. It’s a highlight of the season, where the kids' eyes light up the moment they see Santa Claus waiting to greet them. If you are local to the Natick area- we definitely recommend!
On Christmas Eve, we keep another tradition alive: letting Maddie and Connor each open one special present before bed. There’s always that feeling of anticipation in the air, knowing Santa will be visiting soon. Before bedtime, we sprinkle reindeer food on the lawn to make sure Santa’s reindeer can find their way. Inside, we bake cookies and leave them out with a glass of milk — and in the morning, the crumbs and empty glass are all that’s left behind, along with Santa’s snowy footprints across the floor. These moments remind us that the magic of the holidays isn’t just in the gifts or the glitter, but in the traditions we share as a family — the ones that create lasting memories for Maddie and Connor.
So- what's your favorite holiday tradition?! May your holiday season be filled with love, laughter, and traditions that you hold close year after year.
XO- Maddie and Connor CO
